Measure Power and Monitor Training
Power is a key component of most sports, GymAware is a system that allows coaches to quantify power and a number of other key variables relating to performance. There is a lot more to understanding your athletes than just knowing a whole lot of stats on their performance on a particular exercise. Once the data is collected it becomes a valuable source of knowledge that keeps growing.
As each athlete is subtly different they will all have different responses to overloads from tough games or training sessions. By monitoring the athlete repeatedly over these periods this response can be mapped and then used to fine tune the preparation of each individual in the lead up to big events.
Measurement Variables:
All these following parameters are recorded automatically as peaks, averages, and totals for both concentric and eccentric measures during training!
| Time – (s) |
Distance (m) |
| Velocity – (m/s) |
Height (m) |
| Power – (W) |
Dip (m) |
| Force (N) |
Rep Rate (f) |
| Power/kg (W/kg) |
Total work done (kJ) |
| Horizontal displacement (S) |

- Globally accessible results
Sample Reports:
The GymAware results are stored in a powerful database connected to a sophisticated reporting engine. There are a number of types of reports ranging from single point analysis reports though to trend analysis and squad summary reports. The range of reports available is always growing as new ways of interpreting the results are developed.
Download the sample pdf of reports which include - Trend Comparison Athlete, Session Ranking, Rep Analysis, Difference Analysis, Session Summary and Power@Weight reports:
From the start these reports will be able to tell you the basics. You will be able to definitively show if a power for a certain exercise has increased. From a higher level you will see other trends, for example you may see a downward trend in power output that often precedes illness. The athlete may still be lifting full sets of the normal weight but the power decreases will only be picked up by the GymAware sensors and revealed in the longitudinal reports.
